Starting from the pretty village of Mungrisdale, there will be a short road walk of just under one mile before we head off and take the path up to the atmospheric Bowscale Tarn. From here it is a steep ascent up to our first top of the day - Bowscale Fell. Next, there is easy walking around Bannerdale Crags to the cairn. A gradual descent following the Glenderamackin River and with spectacular views of Sharp Edge on Blencathra will take us to our next ascent up to Souther Fell. Again, it will be a gradual descent off back to our starting point - there is a very short section (approximately 5 metres) down rocks which would be slippery if wet and care will be needed. There are good paths throughout although once on the tops, it can be boggy and wet.
