Overview

Starting from the old road of Whins Lane we cross the fields to Brindle then across to the access to Hoghton Tower before descending to Hoghton Bottoms. After following the River Darwen through the gorge we climb out to Riley Green then after a short stretch of canal we reach Ollerton Fold. Return is then across the fields to Withnell Fold and then through Higher Wheelton.
