We’ll pass through the hamlet of Brombil then begin the gradual ascent of the narrow valley alongside the picturesque Arnallt Brook.
This will lead us high above Port Talbot as we make our way to the (hopefully) Turquoise waters of Brombil Reservoir (which became an Internet sensation during lockdown).
The reservoir was recently put up for sale so maybe this is your chance to buy your own watering hole!
After a stop to admire the scenery, we will descend to return to the start.
Social after walk:
Afterwards, we will go for refreshments to the Twelve Knights Pub.
Directions: Take M4 to junction 38 then take 4th exit onto A48 west.
At next roundabout take 2nd exit to continue west on A48 to M4 Junction 39.
Do not rejoin M4.
Take 1st exit to continue on A48 for about half a mile.
After passing Twelve Knights Pub, turn right into Ty-Fry Road (signposted St. David’s Church).
Follow road as it bears right at a ‘Brombil half mile’ sign.
Leave estate and park on-street just before M4 flyover.
