We are the Manchester and Salford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Route: Castleton to Crimble Mill and Queen's Park. Hooley Bridge then the high path along the South edge of the Cheeseden valley (steep drop to the right sometimes) along Scotland Lane and by Walmersley golf course - Top o' th' Hill to Limefield and onto Burrs Country Park and Bury.
There is a bailout point after about 6.5 miles at Limefield, where there's a pub and buses to Bury.
Climbs to a fair height, with good views at some points, but most of the uphill is steady, with a couple of short steep sections.
No toilets or refreshments till towards the end, either the pub in Limefield.
