The sixth section of the summer's long-distance walk, from Wintringham to Ganton.
As this is a linear walk, we will meet at the end of the walk, which in the layby outside the Greyhound in Ganton, next to the A64. From there we will car share in as few cars as possible to Wintringham Church, which is where we will start the walk.
This 10 mile walk will include a very steep ascent near the start. There is a guide rope to help you up and don't worry, we will take it very steady. However, once at the top you will be treated to a unique site - 'Enclosure Rites' (see the photo).
After admiring the site and catching our breath, we will then follow the Centenary Way all the way to Ganton.
The walk provides some great views of the A64 and York–Scarborough trainline (evidence on photo), with of course the great countryside that surrounds it!
🅿️ Parking is free in the layby at Ganton by The Greyhound, and at Wintringham by the church

🍺 After the walk, we can pop into The Greyhound or head to a nearby café for some well-earned refreshments
