Overview

Meet at the Long Bridge in Queen Elizabeth Gardens at 11.00. This is a tranquil riverside walk taking about 90 minutes.  From the gardens we head towards the Railway Station and Churchfields, then leaving the Industrial Estate behind, we take a grass path leading to the river bank and follow the path along this beautiful stretch of the River Nadder.  passing Nadder Island, a Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve.  On reaching Bemerton Village we take the Broken Bridges Footpath to West Harnham. The path crosses the Nadder floodplain where much of the land will form the new Broken Bridges Nature Reserve.  In Harnham we continue to the Old Mill and join the Town Path across the water-meadows to return to our start point.
