Overview

Walk overview

A pleasant ramble from Downton with stretches by the River Avon and good views of the surrounding countryside. The route ascends Barford Down and passes Trafalgar House to cross the Avon and return along the water meadows. Some short stretches of quiet road. Generally easy walking on good paths although some route adjustment may be required following heavy rain or for livestock. Three stiles. Assistance dogs only.

This route will be an excellent introduction to rambling for new members.
