Overview

The walk will be led by Leigh Fulton.

Walking south from the historic viewpoint at Oliver's Mount , passing through Deepdale and Eastfield , then crossing the B1261 skirting the edge of Cayton , then crossing the railway at Carr House Farm into open countryside and farmland to Hertford River. Walking along the Hertford River , we then eventually recross the river and via the Carrs towards Seamer where we criss cross the railway line and  walk along the lake edges at Burton Rigg. Skirting Eastfield via Morrisons and the B1261 we then ascend upwards and back to the start at the top of Oliver's Mount. We shall then finish the afternoon in the cafe on Oliver's Mount. This walk no longer loops around the edge of Flixton as a farmer has blocked the path so that it is impassable. The walk is now shortened to about 9.5 miles.
