Overview

This is a circular walk and classed as Strenuous with Technical ability scrambling across rocks with narrow ledges and steep drops required. Trail Magazine class this as one of their Walks of a Lifetime (WoaL) with some outstanding scenery.

Starting just outside the village of Braithwaite we head towards Kinn, the first of our Birketts and onto Sleet How which is the start of the climb up to Grisedale Pike, the first of our Wainwrights. This climb is probably the longest to gain the height we need to go on and do the remaining Wainwrights and Birketts.

List of Wainwrights we will complete:

Grisedale Pike, Hopegill Head, Crag Hill, Sail, Scar Crags, Causey Pike, Outerside, Barrow.

List of Birketts we will complete

Kinn, Hobcarton Crag,  Sand Hill, Eel Crag, Stile End.
