The walk starts from Crowden Car Park and ascends up to Black Hill via Hey Edge, Westend Moss and Tooleyshaw Moss before returning back to the start via the Pennine Way passing above Laddow Rocks.
The route will make for a typical walk in the Dark Peak area of the National Park.
As normal for the Peak District it is advisable to wear stout hiking boots and carry waterproofs and a spare layer.
Expect extensive views towards Bleaklow and the surrounding moors if the weather is favourable.
The route involves a steady ascent up to Black Hill, levelling out and crossing typical moorland with views over to Holme Moss. The descent via the Pennine Way is paved in parts and is generally downhill all the way back to the start.
We will make regular stops for coffee ( or other drinks) and also we stop for lunch which should be when we reach the summit and so it is advisable to bring food and drink with you
