The start of the walk is easily found as Dalton Park is signposted from the junction of the A19 and the A182. As you enter the complex the Dancing Betty pub is the first building on the left. Take the first left into the car park just before the pub, signposted Morrisons click & collect, and make your way to the rear where there are 2 high lamp posts. We will meet beside the one nearest to Morrisons. Don’t worry if you miss the first road as the next left will also take you into this car park.
Toilets are available in Morrisons store close to the starting point.
A short stop will be made just before half way round for those with their own refreshments. A number of cafes, including in Morrisons, and a pub; serve refreshments and meals which will be available at the end.
The walk itself is circular, about 4.5 miles in length, and follows well marked footpaths all the way. Some are tarmac, some are loose shale and some are on fields. There is a very good chance, unless the weather changes that parts will be on the wet and muddy side so boots/walking shoes will be essential. It is not a difficult walk although there are 2 flights of steps, one at the beginning and one about half way round with a stile at the top.
