There may be some muddy areas and uneven ground throughout the walk
We begin the walk from the car park at The Boatside Inn, Warden, Hexham NE46 4SQ (courtesy of the manager) taking a narrow track behind The Boatside Inn and turning right onto an open field with a continuous, steady incline, leading us across farmland, till we descend into Fourstones - we will take a short stop at St. Aiden's Church as a point of historical interest
Heading down towards the Tyne over a railway track, we take a narrow, country path to our lunch stop by the river
After lunch we follow the Tyne towards Fourstones Paper Mill, at which point, we join a busy road without a path for approximately 300m - please take care at this point by staying to the right hand side of the road and in single file, till we are able to cross the road onto a pathway.
Ascent: A there is a steady incline for the first part of the walk
