The walk starts from the car park at Tropical Birdland where you can use the toilet facilities. We will walk across to Botcheston and then over to the woods at Ratby Burroughs. The route will then cross the Forest Hill Golf Club down to Markfield Lane into Merry Lees. There is a short stretch of road walking along Lindridge Lane before we turn off into fields and back to Desford.
The walk is mostly on good paths and a quiet lane. There are some hills but nothing too strenuous. There are horses in some of the fields and there are quite a few stiles.

There is a cafe at Tropical Birdland that you can access from the car park where you will be able to get something to eat after the walk.
