An Epic Lake District walk featuring Mickleden valley
Starting at Stickle barn National Trust car park, the walk ascends the band up to three tarns. From there we continue to climb to the summit of Bowfell. A small hop and skip takes us across to Esk Pike then on to Esk Hause. We then slowly head down, taking in Allen Crags and Rossett pike on the way. We descend into Mickleden valley and back to the start. On a clear day, the views are amazing, highlighting Scafell, Great end, Great Gable, and Derwent water.
This walk is very strenuous and covers four Wainwrights, with 1200m of ascent.
Car Parking is free for National Trust members. Refreshments are available from New Dungeon Ghyll Inn at the end of the walk. Sticklebarn has just re-opened which gives us another option
Dogs are allowed but need to be on a lead at all times
