The walk starts from the Postern Hill car park to the right of the camp site, and descends steeply to the edge of Marlborough before turning right along Black Field to pass the site of Cynetio, a Roman settlement, as we make our way to Stitchcombe from where we climb gently to join Cock-a-troop Lane. The route then crosses the A4 - a busy main road where care will need to be taken when crossing - to join Twelve O'Clock Drive before reaching the Grand Avenue. We then make our back to the cars via a combination of Postwives Walk, New Road, Great Lodge Bottom, and White Road passing the New King Oak, the Queen Oak, Spider Oak, Bumble Oak, Old Paunchy, and Young Paunchy.
