We will walk through the recreation ground and follow the road until we turn left on a path leading to a wooded lane and then onto the road to Boxford. We continue into a wooded area and river (reserved for licensed fishing), then walk through a small wood and scenic path leading to Bagnor. We walk through Bagnor and return via a different very narrow nettled path. At the end of the path, we enter a residential road, leading onto the road to Boxford. We cross to walk up Snake Lane. This is a narrow road, with possible heavy traffic, so we will need to take care and keep to the side of the road. There is a slight hill leading back to the Stockcross Recreation Ground.
There are no hazards or obstacles on this walk but some of the paths are very narrow necessitating single file walking for a short distance. Nettles are in abundance so please wear long sleeves and trousers. Some of the footpaths may be muddy.
Please register your interest before the walk. Numbers limited to 12.
If walkers wish to drink and eat, we could go to the Red House in Marsh Benham or back into town.
