From the Falkirk Wheel we follow part of the John Muir Way through Rough Castle Community Woodland, once open cast mining area. This brings us to Rough Castle Roman Fort where interpretative panels detail the history of the Fort. At Bonnybridge we take the road down through the Doctor’s Pend to reach the Community Centre. After viewing the murals and information boards we make our way to the Forth and Clyde Canal and the towpath back to the Wheel.
