Walk details

This is a pleasant stroll to the northeast of Henley. From the station, we will walk over Henley Bridge, following the Chiltern Way to the hamlet of Aston. At Aston, there is the possibility of a pub stop at the Flowerpot Hotel. From there, it’s down to the river and back to Henley past Temple Island and along the famous regatta course. At the end of the walk we can celebrate the New Year in one of the several pubs/cafes in Henley!

Travel details

By public transport

There are two options to reach Henley by public transport.

Please travel on the 12.15 departure from Twyford if travelling by train (connecting trains leave Reading at 11.59, and Maidenhead at 12.00).

The walk leader intends to travel on Reading Buses ‘aqua’ route 28 leaving Friar Street in central Reading at 12.00 (although will probably board at one of the Caversham stops).

By car

Several car parks are available in Henley - charges apply.

Dogs

Dogs welcome on this walk, provided they are kept under control at all times and placed on a lead when requested by the walk leader.

Please see our dogs policy on our group website for more details.
