An 8.3 mile linear walk from Midgham to Newbury.
Advance booking is not required, but if you plan on attending this walk, please indicate this on Meetup if you can (see Website link), so others can see that there will be plenty of people going.
Pace: gentle.
Walk details
Today’s walk will take us from Midgham station to Newbury station along the Kennet & Avon Canal, with a diversion through Thatcham Lakes. From Midgham station, we’ll make our way as if we’re going to The Rowbarge before turning right onto the canal towards Thatcham station. Once there, we’ll pass right past it to continue along the canal, and then we’ll turn away from it to do an anti-clockwise loop of Thatcham Lakes before heading back to the canal. We’ll keep following it into Newbury town centre, where we’ll finish in time for the pub crawl that afternoon and evening.
