A brisk walk to the top of Inkpen Hill heading east along a ridge to the slightly higher Walbury Hill (297m), the highest in south east England, then descending towards Inkpen Common and a return through Kintbury. One very steep hill and many undulations. Some paths a bit overgrown.
Lunch: picnic only on grass on Gallows Down. Pub near the station at the end of the walk.
Train: Paddington 09:05; change at Newbury, arrive 09:54 (Newbury train), depart 10:11 (Bedwyn train). Buy return to Kintbury. Please make use of the facilities at Newbury.
