Overview

From the picturesque Staffordshire Moorlands village of Grindon, the walk starts by revisiting Thor's Cave. Hopefully we will find the path to Wetton that eluded us last time, then go to Alstonfield.

From there the route takes a loop south to Ilam Hall, passing Castern Hall en route. It returns up the opposite side of the Manifold valley by way of Throwley Hall.
