Overview

The Gryffe Valley Way is a 21 mile route from the Visitor Centre at the Greenock Cut to the Sports Centre in Linwood.

Join us to walk part of this route. All options will start from Drumfrochar Station.

Option 1 is 11 miles to Kilmacolm.

Option 2 is 14.5 miles to Bridge of Weir.

Option 3 is 18 miles to Craigends.

At the end of each option you can catch the X7 to Buchanan Bus Station.

If you wish to come on the walk you must contact the Leader (Sandra) in advance by email but not more than two weeks in advance, which is 24th August. Also please provide the Leader with a mobile phone number in case arrangements change.

When you contact the walk leader, please indicate which option you intend to walk (you’ll not be held to this but it will be helpful when planning the walk)

If you’ve not had a response within a couple of days please check your junk mail.

Walkers should not come on the walk if they have any symptoms associated with the Covid virus.

For this walk the first stage from Drumfrochar Station will join part of the Greenock Cut circular route up to Loch Thom, across to the Gryffe Reservoirs, then follow quiet roads and cycle paths to Kilmacolm. The next stage will continue through some woods back to the cycle path to Bridge of Weir. The final stage follows the river through woods passed the Craigends yew to Craigends.

There will be a snack stop every four miles so please bring plenty to eat and drink. If you choose to stop in Kilmacolm or Bridge of Weir there are cafes and pubs. If you go to the end sadly it’s just a bus stop, so a coffee or a drink on returning to Glasgow perhaps.
