Tram based walk

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the concourse at Victoria Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the tram, or at the Walk Start at Heaton Park Metrolink station.

Transport to Walk Start: 10:39 tram from Manchester Victoria (final destination Bury).

Suggested Ticket: Zone 3 Metrolink ticket - (1 day off peak travel card £4.30)

Walk Start: Heaton Park Metrolink Station at 11:10am

Return Services: Trams every 12 minutes to Manchester Victoria.

Extra: Toilets available at Heaton Park, after approx. 4 miles/. Optional drinks at the end at The Ostrich, near the Metrolink stop.  Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs).

This is an Easy walk suitable for beginners but there will be some mud so good footwear necessary.

We will pass by Heaton Hall, The Temple (with great views of the city centre) and Heaton Park Farm.

the route is easy going on hard paths through parkland but there is a short stretch through woodland which will be slippery and a a few areas which can be very wet and boggy.
