Overview

From Rhymney rail station over Rhymney Hill common to Bryn Oer, past the Gorsedd 1990 stones and wind turbines to Bryn Bach Park created in the 1980's when the collieries closed. A visit to Bute Town, a planned village created for the workers of the new ironworks opened in 1825 by the Marquis of Bute with a short detour to see the Twisted chimney sculpture before following the river past Rhymney to Pontlottyn station.

Catch 09.41 train Cardiff Central (or stations between) to Rhymney  Leader joins at Heath High Level 09.50.  Buy return ticket to Rhymney.
