Overview

This walk starts at Royal William Yard at 10.40 and will follow the coast path through Stonehouse, Millbay, the Hoe and the Barbican. We will walk around Sutton Harbour and then to the less familiar, less salubrious stretch of the walk, quite industrialised but with good views until emerging at Laira Bridge. Here we will follow the charming habitations of Oreston, Turnchaple, Hooe Lake arriving at Mount Batten. We can have coffee at a Royal William Yard cafe if wished.

For those that don’t know Plymouth this walk is a must; for those that do you will learn things you didn’t know!  Lovely views of Plymouth Sound and it s surrounds from many different points.

To reach Royal William we will park at Mount Batten (free) and take two buses to the start. Bus will leave at 9.52 so please arrive in plenty of time (leave an hour from Tavistock to give time to put boots on etc)
