This walk covers parts of the Midshires Way and Leicestershire Round, mainly over rolling fields & pastureland, with some beautiful views along the way.
We head south via Rothersby & Brooksby, then on the Midshires Way to Rose Cottage, just north of Gaddesby. We turn onto the Leicestershire Round, heading northwards towards Frisby on the Wreake. At the edge of that village, we head back west towards Hoby.
We have to cross the railway line and also cross the A607 in 2 places. There are a few stiles and pastures with grazing livestock: sheep (several), cows (one) horses (one).
The walking was good underfoot during the recce, but may change in places if there is substantial rain in the couple of weeks before the walk.
In view of livestock in some fields, this walk is not suitable for dogs.
Please consider car sharing arrangements with other members to reduce the pressure on parking spots at the start of the walk.
In the event of severe weather, please contact the leader on the morning to check the walk is still on.
