An 11 mile circular walk through the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, that has classic Wolds scenery and distant views over East Yorkshire (on a clear day). The walk visits a number of Dales, including Frendal, Tun, Holm, Rabbit and Cow Dale, so expect some undulation. There is likely to be livestock (sheep) in some of the Dales we pass through so dogs must be kept on a lead.
Starting from the village of Huggate we first warm up with a road walk out of the village to join the Minster Way. Following the Minster way we reach the first Dale of Frendal Dale. Following the Dale we join the wooded Tun Dale before heading out the Dale. We then pass through the Wold House Farm, which is the highest point on the walk and on a clear day has far reaching views over East Yorkshire. Just before descending in to Holm Dale we will stop for lunch with views down the Dale. After lunch we continue down Holm Dale and follow farm tracks to the final Dales of Rabbit and Cow Dale. Finally we follow the road back in to Huggate to end the walk, with the option for a post walk drink at the Wolds Inn Pub.
