This is a gorgeous and fairly easy going walk, full of interesting features, starting from the picture postcard village of Hutton le Hole.
Meet at the car park at Hutton le Hole, ready to start walking at 10.15am.
We will begin by heading north out of the village across Spaunton Moor where there are sweeping views across the North York Moors. We will reach the mining ruins of Chimney Bank where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we pass the Ana Cross before reaching the village of Lastingham where we can pop into the church to explore the fascinating crypt. The last stretch of the walk takes us back along the road and across fields into Hutton le Hole.
🥾 This is a fairly easy going walk, mainly on decent paths but please come prepared for potential boggy sections on the moor – walking boots are recommended
