⚠️ This walk is strenuous but rewarding, with a lot of ascent and descent throughout. The grade also reflects the pace which will be brisker with less frequent stops.
We leave the car park and immediately start to climb gradually at first but the path quickly becomes steeper, before reaching the summit of Roseberry Topping.
After taking in the views, we pick up the Cleveland Way which descends down and then up onto Newton Moor. We leave the Cleveland Way and make our way around to Percy Rigg where we drop down passing the llama farm, we then climb up and meet up with the Cleveland Way briefly before heading past the Kildale waterfalls.
From there we climb up to Captain Cook's Monument, which has more spectacular views. Then we drop down to Gribdale Gate, before making our way to Aireyholme Lane where we climb up to Cliff Rigg Quarry. We then pass the picture frame before making our way through the woods back down to the car park.
