A varied & entertaining excursion to an area we haven’t visited for quite some time
(or even at all!).
This outing, as the name suggests, includes a number of caves, cliffs, former mine-shafts, a hill-fort and a swing-bridge within its 14 attractive miles, along with excellent viewpoints and a great riverside pub!
There is also the bonus of walking rarely-visited footpaths in the complex Great
Doward area, where a profusion of delightful, quiet lanes exist in peaceful seclusion.
Well... until now, anyway!
Quite hilly terrain, but of real interest and delivering a considerable amount of new
territory.
I suggest you bring a torch for the caves!
