Overview

This ramble starts at the historic and charming village of Laxton which is the last place in the country to retain and operate the ancient open field system. An interesting walk is guaranteed. Please note that there are a number of stiles and the walk is therefore not dog friendly.

If coming from Doncaster the easiest route would commence on the A1 south and then leave the road at Tuxford thereafter making for Egmanton and our start.In Laxton meet at the Dovecote Inn in the centre and park at the top of the car park. There are toilets and a visitor centre at the start.
