Overview

Starting from outside the cricket club this walk meanders through quiet lanes and footpaths into the beech trees of St Mary’s Vale, where boots may get a little wet, to gain the footpath beside the stream. We then shortly double back uphill to Llanwenarth Breast which has good views across the Usk Valley. The route continues at this level until passing by Tynewydd farm and fields and then descends through the edge of Graig woods onto a lane which leads down to cross the A40 Brecon road onto the River Usk riverside. Following the river it goes through more fields before passing Llanwenarth Church on the lane leading back towards Abergavenny and our start point.
