A feature of this walk are the acres of bluebells on Merbach Hill Common which, subject to favourable conditions, are quite stunning. The walk also affords wonderful views across Herefordshire’s Golden Valley to the Black Mountains, the Wye Valley and the village of Dorstone. Our lunch stop will be at Arthur’s Stone, an atmospheric neolithic burial chamber made of great stone slabs set high in the hills high above the Golden Valley.
Pre-booking requested. Please message walk leader, Lew Lewis (07881 700698).
There are 4 stiles on the walk. During wet weather some paths will be muddy.
Suggested optional post walk refreshments: Nags Head pub on edge of Peterchurch.
