This walk is generally flat albeit Malmesbury is set on a hill and thus there are a few ups and downs but only totalling 500ft. We meet in the Station road car park at the bottom of the steps to the town centre and heading out of town past the Abbey, we find the common land donated to the “common folk” of the borough by the first king of England, now called Kings Heath. From here we turn North to Foxley Green. Cross the river Avon (Sherston branch) and head up the Fosse Way before wandering along the lane to Brokenborough where, wait for it, we cross the River Avon (Tetbury branch). The final route takes us across the fields and into Malmesbury.
Please bring a packed lunch. there are some stiles and one gate to climb, some mud but otherwise a straightforward walk.
