We take the Wysis way into the Frome Valley and follow the disused Thames and Severn canal to the outskirts of Oakridge and continue on to Bisley. This is where the Princess Elizabeth was sent by Henry VIII to escape the diseases of London.  There are interesting stories to tell about what happened in Bisley  at Overcourt House. Come on the walk to find out more. When we have completed the “history lesson” in Bisley we turn off the Wysis way and head for Waterlane and Tunley before looping back into Sapperton.  We can expect some soft ground at this time of year and a few stiles but on the whole a straightforward  varied and interesting walk. Please bring your lunch.
