Overview

With lots of Historic & Natural interest… and a bit of myth too!

Our walk will take us onto the Iron Age Fort at the top of Little Doward, with some fabulous beech trees & great views over to the Forest of Dean. We drop through woodland paths to reach the river Wye, stopping to admire a Lime Kiln. We’ll follow the river on reasonable tracks & paths, stony in some parts, pass Biblins Bridge & on to the Rapids. Here we’ll ascend through the woods to a path and tracks in Lord’s Wood, recognised as environmentally important. Next we’ll admire the views from the Seven Sisters rocks before walking through beautiful beech woodland to Arthur’s cave. From here we’ll ascend through Woodland Trust land to regain Little Doward before returning to the start point.
