A moderate walk of between eight and a half and nine miles with about 1300ft of ascent starting from Chapel St car park in Monyash at ten o'clock.
The route will start along the road to the head of Lathkill Dale, avoiding the Bagshaw Dale mud bath. Then along the dale keeping to the top of the north side as far as the track leading to Mill Farm. Before joining the track there is a steep slippery descent where a pole or two would be useful. Past the farm buildings and across the fields to the main road opposite Haddon Grove Farm. There will be some unavoidable road walking to gain the footpath past Magpie Mine to Sheldon. From there we will cross the fields to the head of Deep Dale and continue across the Chelmorton road to the edge of Flagg. We will return to Monyash by more field paths and part of Cross Lane.
Bring lunch and snacks. No dogs please.
