We are the Isle of Wight Ramblers. We arrange walks, monitor paths and help our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

Route to be decided nearer the time depending on where it’s least muddy, but do save the date for a festive circular walk (approx 5 miles) from Newchurch, stopping en route for some mulled wine and mince pies. Christmas jumpers, hats, or other festive attire will be welcome - though they're not obligatory!

Free parking at Newchurch Village carpark (opposite Newchurch primary school),
By public transport
Sorry, unfortunately this start point is not served by bus. The nearest bus route is the No 8 (Winford Cross stop), but that is neither handy (road walking with no pavement or verge) nor frequent. If you are stuck for transport to the start point, please do post a request on the Whatsapp group (see below) and hopefully some kind soul coming from your direction will be able to offer a car share.

Drink
Depending on the weather, consider suitable clothing, footwear, walking pole(s), sun cream, drinks, and food. Watch out for ticks and remove ASAP. If you are unsure about your ability to undertake this walk, please contact the walks leader. If you need to leave the walking group, please ensure you inform the leader or back marker.
Please note there may be short sections of road walking – please walk in single file and take good care.

If you are new to the Ramblers you can just turn up for any of our walks, unless we specify otherwise. We invite you to come along for three walks as a non-member.
