Overview

This 7 mile (11.27km) walk is very flat. No hills at all and only 2 stiles! We start at the junction of Norfolk Road, Mark Lane and Wharf Road and walk along the Thames and Medway Canal stopping after 3 miles for a 15 minute break. We then cut across a field to the banks of the River Thames. This section of the river is known as the Saxon Shore Way. We continue walking along the river, past a lighthouse an the old Shornemead Fort until we reach the Ship and Lobster Public House where hot food is available. You may choose to stop here or continue to walk for one more minute to the starting point. Please be prepared for a few muddy puddles. Parking is available along the road and in the adjacent industrial estate.
