Overview

A circular walk along good paths and quiet lanes from Kirkby Stephen along the River Eden and on to the waterfall in Stenkrith Park. Following the river most of the way, crossing fields and green paths onto Mallerstang and Pendragon Castle , reputedly built by Uther Pendragon, father of King Arthur in the 5th century and later by Lady Anne Clifford. We return along the other side of the river eventually reaching the village of Nateby and then on to an old railway track crossing the spectacular Podgill and Merrygill Viaducts.
