Overview

This walk passes across Piercefield Estate, retracing paths laid out by Valentine Morris in the eighteenth century. The old estate includes Piercefield House, illustrating the decay of one of Wales’ finest houses and incorporates Chepstow Race Course. The route goes around the course with a small detour to the Giant’s Cave and on to the village of St. Arvans. The walk then follows a series of footpaths through farmland and finally a section of Cockshoot Wood before proceeding a short distance along the B4235 back to the start.
