This is a lovely walk starting at the Wolds Gliding Club Windsock, passing through Pocklington town centre, climbing gently through woods and crop fields (both potentially muddy after rain) before taking the quiet road to reach the small church at Great Givendale.
We walk on through some gently undulating grass fields with bubbling streams, cattle and calves (please keep dogs on a lead). We then reach the pretty village of Millington before climbing the series of fairly moderate slopes up the Minster Way. We walk along the ridge with fantastic views and then it is downhill most of the way back through Kilnwick Percy and the golf course into Pocklington. There are only 2 or 3 stiles to climb over in the entire route.
Public transport:
East Yorkshire Buses service X46 and X47 travel between York and Hull via Pocklington. The stop at the Shell petrol station is nearest to the Gliding club entrance (2min walk).

Optional camping on Friday night:
We will be offering optional camping (£free) and/or twin bunk rooms (£25 - please arrange with Mark C) at the Wolds Gliding Club on the Friday night before, for anyone who wishes to stay over after the Gliding experience evening planned for Fri 9th June. Dogs are welcome to stay for camping, but not in the bunk rooms.
If you only want to come along for the walk on Saturday and not the Gliding and/or camping, that is absolutely fine too.
