Overview

Start from Llanbradach rail station. The village developed when coal discovered in 1890's  - the mine closed 1961. Crossing the Rhymney river an ascent to Rhymney Valley Ridgeway (RVR) - excellent views of coast and valleys. Descent to Machen (past iron & coal industries), following trails/paths through woods and points of interest to Parc Cefn Onn

09.22 Train from Cardiff Central or from stations between (leader joins at Heath High Level, 9.30) to Llanbradach (09.49).  Buy return ticket.  Confirm train times with leader.
