Overview

The walk starts and finishes at the car park below Mynydd Rudry. We will continue through Waterloo to the outskirts of Machen and ascend to the Rhymney Valley Ridgeway. The descent to Machen contours around Mynydd Machen taking us to the river Rhymney which we will follow to Draethen. There is a further climb out of Draethen before we make our way back to the start. There are magnificent views from several points along the route.
