We are the Take a Hike Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Starting at cross gates station we will make our way to garforth via the edge of thorpe park, weaving over the selby to leeds railway line. Following some lunch we will take the fly line up to the tunnel before making our way back down through garforth golf course, finishing with a bit of the old wetherby line, finishing by making our way to the new travellers rest all in all the walk should be 11.2miles and estimations are being back around 3-4pm.
Toilets at cross gates and well be near tesco in garforth.
Reasonably flat, there are some inclines but none are prolonged.
Car park at new travellers rest is probably best, i have had conversation with them there, if we arrive later on then were customers, shouldnt have much issue, there is a station car park, apparently it fills up fast, otherwise its pay car parks at the arndale centre.
Cross gates is situated on the leeds railway line and various buses make their way up to cross gates or nearby.
Could be muddy sections, possibility of overgrowth, chance to bail at garforth if you really need to.
Meet at the top of the ramp on the leeds side near hit coffee.
