A 'proper walk' hampered (?) by drinking alcohol. Please dress for hiking and bring water and snacks and lunch/dinner if you are not buying something from a pub.
10 miles + 6 pubs + 3 breweries. The route is measured from Sunny Bank Mills to Kirkstall Brewery.
Pints, halves and soft drinks are available at each venue. Please drink sensibly.
The walk should take 4 1/2 hours to complete. The rest of the time will be spent at the various venues - I'll be drinking halves, so the time taken for me to finish my drink will be the time spent at each venue (I will spend longer at the Fleece for lunch and Kirkstall Bridge for dinner - which, when I reccied this route, was a baguette for lunch and loaded fries for dinner). We should be finished by 9.00pm.
The route is a mixture of roadside pavements, fields, and canal towpath. The busiest road crossing is the Farsley Ring Road, which takes place early in the walk, before we've had too much to drink! There is ascent from Farsley to Calverley, and from the canal towpath to Horsforth.
