Overview

A walk from the Shepherd & Flock, via the Greensands Way to Mother Ludlam’s Cave.  Here the owner of the cave will allow us inside and will give a talk about the cave.  We will then go through the owner's garden to view Father Foote’s Cave.

Please note the following:

1)  The owners stipulate that entering the cave is at your own risk.  It is NOT really suitable for anyone with mobility issues, or who is afraid of enclosed spaces or the dark!
2)  The ascent to Father Foote’s Cave is short but very steep.  The ascent is well worth the effort but please do not attempt it if you have any mobility issues.
3)  Please bring a small torch.
FINALLY:  this walk is likely to be popular and is limited to 20 on each day.  You MUST register in advance by emailing rholway@holway.com stating if you would like to attend on Monday 16 June or Wednesday 18 June 2025.  Once registered you will be issued with a NUMBERED ticket.  Please note, you will not be permitted on the walk without pre-registration.  If your plans/availability should change and you are no longer able to attend the walk please let the leader know so that your place can be offered to someone else if there is a waitlist. 

Refreshments are available at the end of the walk.  Dogs on leads are permitted, but they may prefer to stay outside the caves with their owners.
