River Wye & Penalt

This walk starts along the River Wye before heading up, leaving the River Wye behind us, before going though woodland onto the plateau above the River.  From here we walk through the little village of Penallt and on to the 12th century miniature church anchored to the side of the famous gorge, where it offers lovely views.  We then start to head back down towards the River and return to the start.

The terrain is quite rocky underfoot leading back down to the river, otherwise we will be following footpaths through woodland and fields and some quiet road walking.  There are some stiles.
