Saturday's Christmas Pie Walk will start again from the Fox and Hounds car park outside Bridestowe, off the A386. A long and short walk are available, so please make it clear which you are booking for, along with the lunch.
The longer 6 mile walk will head off through Nodden gate and head up and over Great Nodden to then follow the old peat track path around and up to Great Links Tor which we approach from the north with a short sharp ascent. Pausing for coffee we then head back down towards Arms Tor and cross the river at Nodden Ford. If the Lyd is too deep we will divert down to the bridge.
The shorter 4 mile route peals off after Great Nodden taking the downhill track across Southerly Down to reach the Granite Way and back up Station Road to the Fox and Hounds.
Both routes use the stony tracks of the old Peat Railway and grassy track up and over Great Nodden. Moorland paths then on the longer route , wet underfoot on the approach to Great Links and then steady downhills to the river crossing. The short walk has a long downhill leading to the tarmac of the Granite Way and Station Road. Care to be taken walking back up this road and crossing the A386.
Text Walk Leader (Paul) to book onto either walk and also for the Pie lunch. Booking details and menus issued in email.
