Overview

We will meet in the Souter lighthouse carpark on the lighthouse side, where there are toilets and a café. There’s a charge of £3-£4 for the carpark (free to National Trust members).

We will walk along the coast toward Whitburn beach, turning inland to pass by Whitburn windmill. We will then walk through the Cleadon hills, have lunch at the Cleadon windmill, and loop back around to Souter lighthouse. There are five or six small steps and stiles, but nothing very difficult. The path could be muddy in places.
